A person who stole a bag from cat litter stacked in front of a business in Sivas was caught on security camera. The suspect first hid the bag next to a trash container, then took it and walked away. The business owner Abdullah Uğur said that if the person who took the litter has a cat, they should come and make amends, and that they want to cover the cat's one-year needs.
In Sivas, the theft of cat litter at a workplace was caught on the workplace's security camera, and the business owner said that if requested, they could also provide cat litter and food free of charge.
An unusual theft occurred at a workplace on Keperek Street. In Sivas, where theft incidents are extremely rare, the stolen product caused as much surprise as the incident. In the incident, a person who waited in front of the workplace for a while and watched the shop in the evening hours the other day took a bag of cat litter stacked outside at a moment when they thought no one was watching and hid it in front of the nearby garbage container. Thinking they had not been noticed, they took the bag and walked away.
FIRST, THEY HID IT NEXT TO THE GARBAGE CONTAINER
Workplace owner Abdullah Uğur noticed the incident when he watched the security camera footage after his neighbor's suspicion. Stating that they had encountered such a situation for the first time, Uğur said, “For the first time, we saw a product like cat litter being stolen. Normally, makeup products and jewelry products are stolen. For the first time, someone stole cat litter. We were also very surprised after the incident. I was not at the store; our staff were there. Later, our next-door neighbor called me and said, ‘Someone is wandering around the door; it seems they took the cat litter without paying for it.’ When I first heard it, I was very surprised that they stole cat litter. Then I came to the store and watched the camera footage. After wandering in front of the store, the thief takes the litter at a moment when no one is there. When the store is crowded, the staff cannot pay much attention to the entrance area. The person who stole the litter also watches for an opportunity at that moment; first, they linger at the entrance for a while, talk on the phone, and check inside. At the exact moment they find the opportunity, they take the cat litter, first leave it next to the garbage can so as not to be noticed, wait a bit, and check inside again. Then, when they realize no one has seen them, they take the litter and walk away,” he said.
HE OFFERED TO COVER HIS CAT'S ONE-YEAR NEEDS
Uğur stated that after the incident they moved the cat litter inside the shop and said the following:
“Sometimes people in need come; we help those asking for things like glasses. It was a situation that surprised us greatly. Do they have a cat, or are they taking it to sell? I don't know, but we couldn't make sense of why they would need to steal cat litter. After the incident, we decided to put the cat litter inside the store. In other words, we were very surprised that the cat litter was stolen. If the person who stole the litter has a cat at home, if they love their cat that much, let them come here, let us reconcile with them, and let us cover their cat's one-year needs. Let us provide them with such support so that they don't just take it and walk away like this.”
