At Manchester United, who were defeated by Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, Argentine centre-back Lisandro Martinez's harsh remarks directed at the club management caused a crisis. It was stated that the English giant's management will punish Martinez. Here are the details...
Manchester United, who lost 2-0 away to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, is not calming down. After unsuccessful results on the pitch, Argentine centre-back Lisandro Martinez's harsh statements toward the club management have had an earthquake effect at the club.
''I WILL NOT STAY SILENT!''
Speaking to members of the press after the match, the 28-year-old defender complained about Manchester United's lack of ambition. Stating that sufficient reinforcements were not made in the summer transfer window, Martinez said, "I definitely expected more from our sporting director Jason Wilcox, and I will not stay silent about this! As a club, we must be much more ambitious. Manchester United's goal should always be to win the Champions League and the Premier League."
''IT'S EASY TO BLAME THE MANAGER''
Putting club management in the target of his criticism, Martinez supported manager Michael Carrick and said, "It is easy to constantly put responsibility on the manager or the players. When someone fails, the manager is immediately changed. But what about the club's other levels? Other people who carry responsibility also need to be seen now."
THE BOARD WILL PUNISH
According to reports in the British press, the Manchester United management is extremely uncomfortable with these statements by Lisandro Martinez. It was stated that, in the face of this situation, which has also caused unrest in the dressing room, the club management is considering imposing a heavy fine and administrative sanction on the Argentine player.
