The investigation into Siyabent Şeker, who brutally murdered his 19-year-old pregnant imam-married wife Helin Eren in Diyarbakır, has been completed. The details in the indictment, filed with a demand for aggravated life imprisonment, reveal that the murder was a treacherously planned trap. It emerged that the murder suspect lured his pregnant wife, who had taken refuge in her father's house due to violence, to her death with messages saying, "My love, come, I'll treat you to a meal, I bought you flowers."
"MY LOVE, YOU'RE PREGNANT" MESSAGE DEATH TRAP
The incident began when 19-year-old pregnant Helin Eren, who had left home and returned to her father's house due to violence, was persuaded by her husband Siyabent Şeker to meet. According to the prepared indictment, murder suspect Şeker sent messages exploiting the young woman's pregnancy and emotions. The suspect, showing affection by saying, "My love, you're pregnant, come, I'll treat you to a meal. I bought you flowers," lured the unfortunate woman, whom he called to the street, into a pre-planned ambush. Şeker, arriving at the meeting point with a gun, mercilessly rained bullets on his pregnant wife. The indictment emphasizes that even after the young woman fell to the ground as a target of the bullets, the killer did not stop and continued to fire with the gun.
FAMILIAR DEFENSE FROM THE MURDERER HUSBAND
According to the news in Nefes; arrested murder suspect Siyabent Şeker defended himself by making claims aimed at escaping guilt in his statement to the prosecutor's office. Claiming that his wife threatened him, Şeker alleged the following in his statement: "The reason I killed her was that she was sending follow requests to my friends on social media. She swore at me. We had been living apart for 1.5 months. We argued when she said she would have the baby aborted. Actually, I didn't think about killing her. She had previously sent me a flower photo and said, 'If you buy this, I'll forgive you.' When I called her, I took my gun with me because I thought her brother, with whom I had problems in the past, might set a trap for me. When I went to the meeting place, she said, 'The dog has come.' I lost control and killed her."
DEMAND FOR AGGRAVATED LIFE IMPRISONMENT
Despite the murderous husband's all efforts to receive a reduction for unjust provocation and his defenses of "I lost control," the prosecutor's office highlighted the planning in the incident and the monstrous motive. A case has been filed demanding "aggravated life imprisonment" for Siyabent Şeker, who trapped his pregnant wife fleeing violence with fake love messages and continued to shoot her even after she fell to the ground. The trial of Helin Eren, who was killed at a young age along with her unborn baby, will begin in the heavy penal court in the coming days.
