CHP leader Özel's support for MHP leader Bahçeli: You are doing the right thing.

While the echoes of Nationalist Movement Party Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's handshake with the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party members during the opening of the new legislative year continue, a noteworthy evaluation on the subject also came from CHP leader Özgür Özel.

Özel, who supported Bahçeli for his stance, said, "Devlet bey said; 'The hand I extend is without calculation or book.' I tell him; Devlet bey, you are doing the right thing, I do not criticize you for what you are doing. The hand that reaches the representative of the nation is the nation itself. You have not done this for years, that is why we opposed you, the AK Party. This party will courageously do whatever is necessary so that no more martyrs come and no mother's tears are shed. We are neither where Devlet Bey has imprisoned us nor where the Chairman of DEM has pointed. We will courageously do what is required of us," he said.

In his statement at his party's TBMM Group Meeting, MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli said, "My hand extended to the DEM Party should not be misinterpreted," and added, "It is for everyone's benefit that the DEM Party takes its mind into account and refrains from inciting an environment to sabotage the hand I extended."

HE CALLED OUT TO ÖCALAN: DECLARE THAT TERROR HAS ENDED

Continuing his statement, Bahçeli addressed the terrorist organization leader Öcalan, saying, "The terrorist leader who said, 'I am ready for any service' when brought to Turkey, should unilaterally declare that terror has ended and that his organization will be dissolved. But no one should expect the state to sit at the table with terrorism, nor should they even think about it. Let them show that they are thirsty for brotherhood, not blood," he said.
