The CHP Edirne Deputy Ediz Ün's luxury vehicle with flashing lights was stopped by police teams, and approximately 2 million TL worth of smuggled electronic cigarette parts were seized from inside. This time, images of Ün enjoying himself at a famous nightclub have emerged. At the venue that Ediz Ün is known to frequent, it was determined that the illuminated sign above the DJ booth welcomed him with the message, "Welcome to Pana, Mr. Ediz Ün, CHP Edirne Deputy." In the footage, Ün was seen dancing and having fun to the tune of the 10th Anniversary March. The sign also indicated how many champagnes customers had popped, and it was learned that Ün had previously popped 50 champagnes, earning his place on the sign. WHAT HAPPENED?On September 20, teams from the Edirne Smuggling Branch conducted an operation on the Edirne highway. The luxury vehicle with flashing lights did not comply with the police team's "Stop" warning and began to flee. In the ensuing chase, the car was stopped 600 meters later. Police teams determined that the vehicle belonged to CHP Edirne Deputy Ediz Ün after their investigation. It was revealed that the driver, Ç.R.Ç., had a criminal record for intentional injury, while the passenger, F.A., had records for drug use, theft, property damage, "open theft," forgery of official documents, abuse of trust, fraud in the activities of cooperative managers, and issuing two bad checks, as well as producing or providing services by infringing on someone else's trademark rights. ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES FOUND IN THE CAR TRUNKFollowing this, the teams opened the trunk of the vehicle. Numerous electronic cigarettes and atomizer igniters spilled out of the trunk. The prosecutor in charge asked whether the individuals would "voluntarily surrender" the items found, and if they agreed to surrender, instructed that a video recording be made without a search and that the evidence be seized. Following this, F.A. agreed to surrender the items in the trunk. STATEMENT FROM THE DEPUTYEdiz Ün stated in a social media post that he had handed over the vehicle in question to his unofficial advisor, F.A. He expressed that he had no connection to the incident and claimed that F.A. had met with Ç.R.Ç. to load smuggled goods into the vehicle and had set off towards Istanbul without informing the law enforcement. Ün noted that when the police teams called him, he requested them to search the vehicle and take necessary actions if there was a criminal situation. He stated: "The mentioned individuals wanted to use the privileges granted to me, such as being an Edirne Deputy, the vehicle's license plate being assigned to me, and having priority in traffic, to commit a crime without my knowledge and consent."
