Uğur Batur, the Deputy Chairman of the Victory Party, made a controversial statement during a ceremony held at the AKM for the Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Sırrı Süreyya Önder. Batur said, "Stop with these glorifications. A terrorist is a terrorist. We understand that you couldn't execute him like our great leader Atatürk, but at least don't pray for mercy."

DEVA Party Istanbul Deputy and Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who suffered a heart attack at his home in Istanbul and was treated in intensive care for 18 days, passed away yesterday at the hospital where he was staying.
