In the operation conducted within the scope of the corruption investigation against Silivri Municipality, suspects including Mayor Bora Balcıoğlu and Deputy Mayor Fatih Yavuz were subjected to a health check.
Within the scope of the 'corruption' investigation conducted by the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office; it was determined that certain works and transactions in Silivri Municipality were used for the purpose of obtaining benefits, and irregularities existed in processes such as recruitment of personnel, business transfer/leasing, zoning, permits, sealing, illegal construction, asset acquisition, and municipal real estate sales.
An expert determination was made that a public loss of 21 million 522 thousand TL occurred due to the sale of a municipal real estate classified as unregistered/park area at a low price. As a result of the investigations, a probe was launched on charges of 'establishing and managing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime, being a member of an organization', 'accepting and giving bribes', 'extortion', 'influence peddling', 'abuse of office', 'bid rigging', 'fraud in the performance of obligations', 'causing zoning pollution', and 'laundering assets derived from crime'.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION CONDUCTED Within the scope of the investigation, considering that the acts were committed within an organized structure, detention orders were issued for the suspects, including Mayor Bora Balcioglu, who is deemed to be the founder and manager of the organization, and those alleged to have acted together with him.
In the simultaneous operation carried out on Friday, June 12, within the scope of the investigation, Deputy Mayor Fatih Yavuz, CHP Silivri Municipal Council Member Aykut Batur, Private Secretary Askin K., Ibrahim K., Mustafa D., Serdar T., Yalcin T., Adem K., Ayla C., Yavuz D., Nihat N. S., Murat T., Gokhan T., Naci A., and Adem T. were taken into custody.
THEY UNDERWENT HEALTH CHECK The suspects were brought to Bayrampasa State Hospital under security measures in the morning hours and underwent a health check.
