The training facilities built by Yimpaş Yozgatspor A.Ş. in 2000 in the Fakıbeyli region, consisting of two separate grass pitches, turned into grazing land for cows after the club's closure. Efforts launched by Yozgatspor 1959 FK, competing in the Local League, to bring the facilities back into use were halted due to legal issues at the facilities.
Yimpaş Yozgatspor, which once competed in the Süper Lig, achieved great successes by defeating Real Madrid 3-2 in the Champions League and beating Galatasaray 4-2, has now taken its place in the dusty pages of history.
Yozgatspor, which competed in the 3rd and 2nd Leagues for many years, was acquired by Yimpaş Holding in the 1998/1999 season and renamed Yimpaş Yozgatspor. Competing in the Süper Lig between 2000 and 2002, Yimpaş Yozgatspor was relegated at the end of its second season and dropped to the Regional Amateur League in the 2013/2014 season. After playing one season in this league, the red and black team closed down, and its facilities, consisting of two standard football fields built by Yimpaş in the Fakıbeyli region in 2000, were also abandoned to their fate.
THE FACILITY'S GRASS SEED WAS BROUGHT FROM THE NETHERLANDS
Yimpaş Yozgatspor, which took its first steps in 1999 in Yozgat, a province lacking in facilities, first ensured the construction of a grass football training field near the Galata Çamlık Hotel in Çamlık, and then in 2000, built two separate grass football fields on a 100-acre area purchased near Fakıbeyli village. The grass seed for the facility was brought from the Netherlands.
After Yimpaş Yozgatspor was relegated to the local league and closed down, the training fields established on the 100-acre area were abandoned. Now that the grass has regrown, the area has become pasture for animals raised in the villages around the facility.
LEGAL OBSTACLES AROSE
Yozgatspor 1959 FK, which continues its struggle in the Yozgat local amateur league, started efforts to reopen the training facilities that have turned into plowed fields. The efforts initiated in 2023 to reactivate the fields where Yimpaş Yozgatspor trained and held friendly matches during its Süper Lig and First League days were halted due to legal issues stemming from Yimpaş Holding. While the grass growing on the football fields became feed for cows, the locker rooms were also damaged.
