While MasterChef Türkiye’s surprise return to the screen with a repeat episode on Friday evening sparked the debate “Is the competition over?”, it was learned that the reason for the broadcast interruption was the studio being flooded and filming being halted.
MasterChef Türkiye, the cooking competition broadcast on TV8 that has broken ratings records, surprised viewers by airing a rerun instead of a new episode on Friday evening. On social media, questions such as "Did filming stop?", "Is MasterChef over?" and "Did it air its final?" quickly rose to the top of the agenda.
STUDIO FLOODED, FILMING HALTED
The reason behind this sudden change in the broadcast schedule has emerged. After heavy rain that affected Istanbul, the studio where the competition is filmed was flooded. As the filming area and technical equipment were adversely affected by the flood, filming had to be temporarily suspended.
STOCK EPISODES RAN OUT, NEW EPISODE COULD NOT BE READY
Due to the disruption of the filming schedule and the remaining stock episodes running out, a new episode could not be ready by Friday evening. The channel management made a mandatory change to the broadcast schedule and brought a rerun to the screens.
ALL EYES ON TECHNICAL WORK IN THE BROADCAST SCHEDULE
After cleaning, technical maintenance and repair work at the studio, when filming will resume has become a matter of curiosity. While updates are expected to be made to TV8's broadcast schedule in the coming days, it has been learned that new episodes will continue to meet viewers once filming is completed.
