A striking contradiction has emerged in the investigation into the death years ago of former Minister of Transport Arif Ahmet Denizolgun. Contrary to Denizolgun's doctor Nurettin Demirkol's statement, 'I don't know who made the report,' the 155 records in the case file revealed that the person who made the emergency call was Demirkol himself. Demirkol, who was found to have described the death on the night of the incident as a 'suspicious, unexpected sudden death,' was arrested as part of the investigation.
A striking development occurred in the investigation regarding the death of former Minister of Transport Arif Ahmet Denizolgun in Beykoz in 2016. Denizolgun's doctor, Nurettin Demirkol, was arrested by the court after being detained on charges of "false testimony." Despite Demirkol's previous statement, "I don't know who made the report," the 155 Emergency Call Report Resolution Report entered into the file revealed that he himself had made the report.
THE 155 RECORD FROM YEARS AGO CHANGED THE COURSE OF THE FILE
In the investigation conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the death of former Minister of Transport Arif Ahmet Denizolgun, the resolution report of the 155 report made in 2016 was added to the file.
It was learned that Doctor Nurettin Demirkol, who gave a statement within the scope of the investigation, said he did not know who made the emergency report on the date of the incident. However, the 155 Emergency Call Report Resolution Report dated September 8, 2016, revealed that the person who made the report was Demirkol.
HE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED HIMSELF IN THE FIRST CALL
According to the report, the first phone call took place at 00:29. After the 155 operator answered the phone, the reporter introduced himself with the words "I am Doctor Nurettin Demirkol."
Demirkol stated that a patient for whom he was a family physician had passed away suddenly and said that the cause of death should be investigated.
According to the report, Demirkol said, "I have a patient for whom I am a family physician; he has passed away suddenly. The government physician needs to see him. Perhaps the cause of death is unclear; the judge and prosecutor need to see it."
HE SAID HE DID NOT KNOW THE EXACT ADDRESS
The 155 operator asked Demirkol for the address where the incident occurred. Demirkol said the location was Öğümce Village in Beykoz Riva but stated he did not know the exact full address.
Upon the assessment that the region might be under the jurisdiction of the gendarmerie, the operator asked Demirkol to contact the 156 Gendarmerie line. The first conversation ended in this manner.
However, Demirkol called 155 again just a few minutes later.
HE CALLED 155 AGAIN FOUR MINUTES LATER
According to the report resolution report, the second conversation began at 00:33. Demirkol again clearly identified himself, saying, "I called a little while ago, Doctor Nurettin Demirkol. Regarding someone who passed away..."
Stating that he had spoken with the gendarmerie but was told the region was under police jurisdiction, Demirkol requested help from 155 again.
NOTABLE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION "IS THERE A SUSPICIOUS DEATH MATTER?"
In the most striking part of the conversation, the 155 operator asked Demirkol, "Is there a suspicious death matter here?"
Demirkol's answer was reflected in the report as "Suspicious, unexpected sudden death; unexpected, suspicious sudden death."
Thus, it was seen that in his report on the night of the incident, Demirkol defined the death not merely as a "sudden death" but directly as a "suspicious death."
HE SAID "THE PROSECUTOR NEEDS TO SEE IT"
One of the statements Demirkol used in the first conversation also drew attention in terms of the investigation. The doctor stated that the cause of death was unknown and said, "the judge and prosecutor need to see it."
After receiving the address information, the operator created a record to direct the teams to the scene. At the end of the conversation, the operator said that if the location could not be found, Demirkol would be contacted via the phone number he used during the report.
Demirkol replied, "Okay, we are waiting, sir."
It was also reflected in the report that in response to a person in the background asking, "Brother, did you get through?", Demirkol said "I got through."
THE CONTRADICTION BETWEEN HIS STATEMENT AND THE OFFICIAL RECORD IS UNDER INVESTIGATION
Within the scope of the investigation, although Demirkol said he did not know who made the emergency report years ago, it was seen in the official 155 records that he identified himself with his name and profession in two separate phone calls.
Additionally, Demirkol's statement that the cause of death was unknown, his indication that the prosecutor should deal with the incident, and his description of the death as a "suspicious, unexpected sudden death" were among the notable details of the investigation.
Nurettin Demirkol was arrested by the criminal judgeship of peace after his procedures. The investigation by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continues in multiple directions.
