Former sports administrator and PFDK President Av. Hüseyin Karaahmetoğlu made striking statements regarding the current issues in Turkish football. Particularly criticizing the statements of managers targeting referees and the Central Refereeing Committee (MHK) after matches, Karaahmetoğlu stated that this situation seriously damages the brand value of Turkish football. "REFEREES ARE BEING MADE SCAPEGOATS"Karaahmetoğlu expressed that the managers of losing teams try to shift their failures onto referees and the TFF through the MHK. Describing such statements as "perception management," Karaahmetoğlu said, "Turkish football is in a period where incompetent managers target referees to cover up their failures. This situation causes regression rather than progress in Turkish football." "YOUNG REFEREES SHOULD BE SUPPORTED"As a former football administrator, Karaahmetoğlu stated that he closely follows the current TFF's quest for justice and emphasized that attacks on referees and the MHK are unacceptable. He defined the current MHK's collaboration with young referees to eliminate past factions and dirty connections as the "prescription for the salvation of Turkish football." Karaahmetoğlu expressed the need to support young referees, stating, "It is essential for former referees who commentate on television to support our young referees. Contributing to their development will enable Turkish refereeing to regain its golden age," he said. "THE QUALITY OF FOOTBALL ADMINISTRATORS HAS DECREASED"Karaahmetoğlu pointed out that many club administrators today consist of individuals unrelated to football, stating that this situation leads to the economic bankruptcy of clubs. "Football administration has become an area where business people carry out their commercial activities. As a result, clubs are dragged into debt due to unsuccessful transfer policies, and these administrators leave their positions without accountability," he said. "TFF'S STRUGGLE SHOULD BE SUPPORTED"Karaahmetoğlu mentioned that the injustices that occurred in past TFF administrations and the MHK are being attempted to be cleaned up by the current TFF. Emphasizing the importance of these efforts for Turkish football, Karaahmetoğlu stated that undermining the TFF and MHK through perception operations would be "a betrayal to Turkish football." "A LEAGUE WITHOUT FIGHTS REQUIRES COMPETENT ADMINISTRATORS"Karaahmetoğlu emphasized that Turkish football is not just made up of two or three teams, stating that football should be managed by administrators who come from within the sport rather than business people. "If football administrators consist of individuals who understand football and football economics, Turkish clubs can conduct healthier transfer policies and stay away from economic problems," he said. Karaahmetoğlu concluded his remarks by stating that Turkish football needs to adopt a higher quality management approach and that the practice of blaming the TFF and referees for failures should be abandoned.
