A worker at a wildlife park in Papua New Guinea, a country in the southwest Pacific, has died from a crocodile attack.
An employee feeding a crocodile at a wildlife park in Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea, was attacked. The employee, whom the crocodile tried to pull into the pool, died at the hospital where he was taken in serious condition, and the park was temporarily closed.
The incident occurred at Port Moresby Adventure Park in Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. The crocodile, located in a fenced area of the park, attacked the employee who was feeding it.
CROCODILE TRIED TO PULL HIM INTO THE POOL
Witness Gibson John stated that the employee was attacked while bringing food to the crocodile, saying, "The crocodile attacked the man who brought the chicken to the fence and tried to pull him into the pool. We couldn't help at that moment, but I managed to call an ambulance."
Upon the report, law enforcement and medical teams were dispatched to the park. Visitors were evacuated from the area, and the crocodile was neutralized by law enforcement.
HE DIED AT THE HOSPITAL
The employee, seriously injured in the attack, was taken to the hospital but could not be saved despite interventions.
In footage of the attack moments, the employee was seen clinging to the edge of the pool while those around tried to help him.
PARK TEMPORARILY CLOSED
Following the incident, Port Moresby Adventure Park was temporarily closed. The national press reported that crocodile feeding shows were regularly held at the park and that employees had close interactions with the reptiles.
