Cübbeli Ahmet Hodja made assessments regarding the investigation into Alihan Kuriş and his circle in a lengthy statement made on his social media account.
The famous figure stated that the operation could not be interpreted as an intervention against Sufi devotees or religious people, and argued that the state took steps against activities deemed criminal:

"THE OPERATION CANNOT BE CONSIDERED AS DIRECTED AT SUFI DEVOTEES"
"The AK Party government has never adopted a form of administration that oppresses Muslims and Sufi devotees or conducts raids. There is no need for evidence to prove this. However, our state, having learned lessons from structures like FETÖ that established contact with foreign powers and attempted a coup to have the country occupied, has now carried out an operation against the Alihan Kuriş criminal organization, which is rapidly progressing towards becoming FETÖ. Crimes have been determined by the state in this regard. Furthermore, considering the determinations that if these individuals are not tried for these crimes, this organization's center, currently under German control, would take a more active role and increase its activities in some 150 countries like FETÖ, and that it has established ties with FETÖ, our government and state have been compelled to carry out such an operation against the administrative cadre involved in illegitimate affairs, without touching the madrasas and in a way that would not harm Islam and Muslims."
