Detention in Maden-İş action: Çakır and Aksu were detained

After the miners who are members of the Independent Mine-İş Union decided to continue their protest in front of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources for 24 hours, the police warned them to end the protest. During the negotiation between the police and union executives, Başaran Aksu said, "We will not leave here. We will be here until the money is deposited into the workers' accounts." Following the negotiation, the President of the Independent Mine-İş Union, Gökay Çakır, and the Union's Organization Specialist, Başaran Aksu, were detained.

Miners who are members of the Independent Mine-İş Union announced that they will continue their protest, which they have been holding in front of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources for 8 days, for 24 hours from now on.

NEGOTIATION BETWEEN POLICE AND UNION LEADERS

Following the decision, a negotiation was held between the police and union leaders regarding the termination of the protest. The police stated that a 24-hour protest would not be allowed, saying, "We cannot allow you to turn this place into a living space for 24 hours. This is the heart of Ankara, in front of the Ministry."
