A detention order has been issued for Sinan Udil, the hotel manager, and Osman Gündüz Bora Uğurlu, the security manager, during the period when the cameras at the Le Meridien Hotel, which Ekrem İmamoğlu visited, were turned off.
After the arrest by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a corruption investigation continues against suspects, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was suspended from his position as the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) on charges of "being a leader of a criminal organization," "being a member of a criminal organization," "bribery," "extortion," "qualified fraud," "illegally obtaining personal data," and "interfering with a tender."
CAMERAS COVERED WITH TAPE WHEN İMAMOĞLU ARRIVED
According to the investigation file conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, suspects identified as organization leaders and cash handlers, Tuncay Yılmaz, Ertan Yıldız, Adem Soytekin, Fatih Keleş, and Hüseyin Köksal, met with İmamoğlu at a hotel. Before the meeting, moments were recorded when security cameras observing the hotel's interior were covered with black tape by Çağlar Türkmen, security personnel of the IBB Private Office.
ARREST WARRANT FOR HOTEL MANAGERS
An arrest warrant has been issued for Sinan Udil, the hotel manager of Le Meridien Hotel, which İmamoğlu used for his meetings, and Osman Gündüz Bora Oğurlu, the Security Manager.
STATEMENT FROM THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
In a statement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the matter, the following was stated: "In the investigation numbered 2024/228233 conducted by our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office; an arrest warrant has been issued for the person named Sinan Udil, who was the hotel manager at the 'Le Meridien' hotel during the dates of the crime, and Security Manager Osman Gündüz Bora OĞURLU for the crime of Destroying, Concealing, or Altering Evidence (TCK 281)."
