THE GÜLİSTAN DOKU CASE

Gülistan Doku, a student at Tunceli Munzur University, had not been heard from again after leaving the dormitory where she stayed on January 5, 2020, and became one of Turkey's most talked-about missing person cases. While no results were obtained from months of underwater and field search efforts around Dinar Bridge, where she was last seen, and at Uzunçayır Dam Lake, allegations regarding her ex-boyfriend Zaynal Abarakov and his family, who were named as the prime suspect in the investigation, were at the center of the judicial process. Despite the years that have passed, although the file was kept open on suspicion of "intentional killing," there had been no development.
