The referee for the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby is still uncertain. TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu made a statement regarding the derby referee for the first time. Hacıosmanoğlu noted that there have been no requests for a foreign referee from either club.
As the days count down to the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby, which will determine the fate of the Süper Lig, discussions continue regarding the match referee, while TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu has made a clear statement on the matter.
"NO WRITTEN REQUEST HAS BEEN RECEIVED"
Speaking to Fotomaç, İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu stated that no written request for a foreign referee has been received from either club. İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu expressed the following: "We have not received such a request from either club. If we receive a request from both Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray saying, 'We request that a foreign referee officiates the derby. We want the necessary actions to be taken on this matter,' we, as TFF, would sit down and evaluate the request thoroughly. So far, we have not received a written request from Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray."
"THE DECISION IS UP TO THE FEDERATION"
Fenerbahçe Vice President Acun Ilıcalı, after the Kasımpaşa match, stated at Ülker Stadium, "There was nothing in terms of refereeing in the Kasımpaşa match. Our president has already made the necessary statement regarding the derby. The opposing team had also mentioned that they were open to a foreign referee. Okan Buruk had also said there was no objection. From now on, the decision is up to our federation. We have expressed our opinion on this matter. Galatasaray also said they want a good referee. The best referees in the world can officiate matches here. Our perspective on this issue is clear," he said.
