In Istanbul's Buyukcekmece district, police took action against thefts from parked cars around the beach and this time conducted surveillance from the sky. During a drone-supported inspection in the Celaliye neighborhood, it was determined that 64-year-old S.G. and Z.E., also of the same age, were stealing from vehicles. The suspects were caught red-handed by police teams, and 1 wallet and 2 mobile phones, identified as stolen, were found on them.
Drone surveillance in Büyükçekmece resulted in the capture of two suspects identified as targeting cars around the beach. Teams from the Büyükçekmece District Police Department launched a comprehensive operation following an increase in thefts from vehicles in the coastal area recently.
During the pursuit conducted by police teams both on the ground and from the air, 64-year-old S.G. and 64-year-old Z.E. were caught red-handed.
VEHICLES AROUND THE BEACH PUT UNDER SCRUTINY
Teams from the Büyükçekmece District Police Department initiated an operation after receiving reports of thefts from cars parked in the coastal region.
On Saturday, August 22, teams carried out inspections at and around a beach in Celaliye Neighborhood. However, this time, drone cameras were added to the classic police surveillance.
Parked vehicles and individuals moving in the area began to be monitored from the air.
DRONE CAMERA RECORDED SUSPECTS MOMENT BY MOMENT
During the police drone surveillance, the movements of a woman named S.G. and a man named Z.E. around parked cars drew attention.
Teams detected the two suspects committing thefts from vehicles through drone footage. Police officers waiting in the area then moved into action.
The suspects were caught red-handed and taken into custody without any chance to escape.
WALLET AND PHONES FOUND ON THEM
In the body search conducted by police teams, a wallet and two mobile phones, identified as stolen, were seized from the suspects.
While the seized items were taken for examination, the suspects' connection to similar incidents previously occurring in the area was also investigated.
Following the examinations, it was determined that the duo was not only linked to the incident in which they were caught but also to 4 different vehicle theft cases that had previously occurred in Büyükçekmece.
