Due to a malfunction at Knott's Berry Farm amusement park in California, 22 people were left hanging in the air for 2.5 hours. Passengers trapped on the ride called Sol Spin were rescued through a rescue operation. According to KABC television, the malfunction occurred at 2:00 PM on Monday, where passengers on the six-armed ride that can spin 360 degrees had to wait in the air while strapped in their safety belts. Rescue teams managed to evacuate all passengers by lowering the ride's arms and completing the operation by 4:30 PM. The park management announced that two women were taken to the hospital as a precaution. Some passengers were seen limping away from the scene, and one passenger was seen leaving in a wheelchair. The cause of the malfunction on Sol Spin, which has been in operation since 2017 and requires a minimum height of 1.37 meters, is under investigation. Amusement park officials reported that an investigation into the incident is ongoing. It was noted that similar malfunctions have occurred recently in amusement parks across different states in the U.S., but no serious injuries were reported.
