Bad weather conditions continue across Greece, while the sky turned red on the island of Crete due to desert dust coming from Africa. Although meteorology predicts a decrease in dust particles, security measures have been taken in many regions due to the effects of Storm Erminio.
While the bad weather conditions across Greece continue, the sky in Crete turned red due to desert dust coming from Africa.
THE SKY IN CRETE TURNED RED
The strong winds blowing from the south carried desert dust from Africa. The sky in Crete, located in the south of the country, turned red due to the desert dust.
The Greek Meteorological Service predicted that the dust particles in the sky would gradually decrease starting from the night.
SCHOOLS SWITCHED TO REMOTE EDUCATION
Due to the dangers posed by the Erminio Storm, which started today and is expected to be effective tomorrow, security measures were taken in many regions of Greece. Meteorology experts predicted that the wind speed could reach up to 8 on the Beaufort scale (62-74 kilometers/hour), and remote education was implemented in schools in some areas due to forecasts of heavy rain and wind.
