Jetten, the first openly gay prime minister of the Netherlands, was seen without his Argentine fiancé Nicolas Keenan, with whom he is frequently photographed in public, on the Ankara program.
WELCOMED WITH OFFICIAL CEREMONY
Jetten, who came to Turkey to attend the NATO Summit held in the capital Ankara, was welcomed at Esenboğa Airport by Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş. After the official welcome ceremony, the Dutch Prime Minister began his engagements within the scope of the summit.
FIANCÉ DID NOT COME TO ANKARA
It was noted that Nicolas Keenan, Argentine national field hockey player and Jetten's long-time partner, did not attend the Ankara visit for the NATO Summit. The couple had previously been seen together at many official and social events. While Keenan was not on the Ankara program, Jetten continues his meetings with his official delegation.
MADE HISTORY IN THE NETHERLANDS
Rob Jetten, 38, leader of the Democrats 66 (D66) party, was elected prime minister of the government formed after months of coalition talks following the 2025 elections. Sworn in on February 23, 2026, in the presence of King Willem-Alexander, Jetten made history as one of the youngest prime ministers of the Netherlands and the country's first openly gay prime minister.
SUMMIT AGENDA: SECURITY AND DEFENSE
At the NATO Summit held in Ankara, leaders are expected to discuss topics related to European security, defense spending, support for Ukraine, and the future of the alliance.
