Fatih Erbakan, the Chairman of the New Welfare Party (YRP), reacted to the rate of increases for civil servants and retirees. In a video he shared on social media regarding the issue, he called for early elections, stating, "It is time for the government to leave."
"THE GOVERNMENT HAS DEVIATED FROM THE PRINCIPLE OF JUSTICE IN DISTRIBUTION"
Erbakan used the following expressions in his post: "As is known, the government announced the lowest pension for SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees with a 15.75% increase, amounting to 14,469 lira. The government, which did not hear the objections and cries of civil servants and civil servant retirees regarding the 11.54% salary increase, also did not hear the SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees. This statement has once again revealed that we are facing an indifferent government. Today, the hunger threshold in our country has become 23,256 lira, and the poverty threshold has reached 71,048 lira. Those who deem it appropriate to offer salaries that fall below the hunger threshold, let alone the poverty threshold, and then congratulate with 'may it be beneficial' have become the government of those who unjustly enrich themselves, not of our nation. The government has forgotten to say 'the nation first.' The government has broken away from the understanding of fair governance. The government has deviated from the principle of justice in distribution. Instead of all these noble principles, it has brought about unjust enrichment, waste of public resources, and the understanding of 'privileges first.'
"OUR NATION WILL GIVE THE NECESSARY RESPONSE TO THE GOVERNMENT AT THE BALLOT BOX"
Our nation will give the necessary response to the government that deems these miserable salaries appropriate at the ballot box. Therefore, it is necessary to put the election box in front of the nation as soon as possible and to get rid of these injustices with an early election. We remind that it is possible to provide salary increases ranging from 120% to 325% to the millions of low-income individuals who were particularly oppressed during the 54th Government period, and that we can also provide these increases to our nation in the year 2025. On this occasion, we invite our nation to gather under the roof of the New Welfare Party, the address of national vision for fair distribution and fair governance. To the government that has become blind, deaf, and indifferent to the demands of the oppressed, we say, 'Your time is up, you have disconnected from our nation, you have become the party of the privileged who unjustly enrich themselves, it is time for you to leave.' Everything has its time. It is time for the government to leave. The time is now complete. For the well-being of our esteemed nation, the time for National Vision, the Just Order, and of course, the New Welfare has come."
