A 4.5 magnitude earthquake occurred at 03:42 in the Nurdağı district of Gaziantep. The tremor, which took place at a depth of 7.44 kilometers underground, was felt in Gaziantep, Kilis, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, and Hatay. AFAD announced that there is no negative situation after the earthquake and that field scanning efforts are ongoing.
According to the information on the website of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 occurred in the Nurdağı district of Gaziantep at 03:42.
AFAD determined that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 7.44 kilometers underground.
FELT IN 5 PROVINCES
The earthquake centered in Nurdağı was felt not only in Gaziantep but also in Kilis, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, and Hatay.
In its initial statement following the earthquake, AFAD reported that no negative situation has been detected so far.
AFAD: FIELD SCANNING EFFORTS CONTINUE
In a statement on its social media account, AFAD used the following expressions: “There is currently no negative situation following the earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 that occurred in the Nurdağı district of our province of Gaziantep at 03:42 and was felt in our provinces of Gaziantep, Kilis, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, and Hatay. Field scanning efforts continue. We extend our best wishes to our affected citizens.”
