Ece Güney, who was briefly married to singer and actor Gökhan Güney's son Selim Güney, had her apartment in Esenyurt set on fire by her arguing boyfriend. The fire quickly grew and engulfed the entire house, but was brought under control by the intervention of the fire department. There were no injuries in the incident, but the apartment became uninhabitable.

Ece Güney married Selim Güney, the son of Gökhan Güney, in 2012 but lost her husband to cancer in 2014. Ece Güney, who had previously made headlines due to controversies with her father-in-law Gökhan Güney, has now come into the spotlight again due to a dispute with her boyfriend. The escalating argument between Ece Güney and her boyfriend even led to a fire in their home.

THE HOUSE BECAME UNINHABITABLE

The fire broke out on January 26 in an apartment located in a site in Esenyurt Talatpaşa Neighborhood. According to allegations, after an argument escalated between Ece Güney and her boyfriend, Güney's boyfriend set the house on fire. The rapidly spreading fire engulfed the entire apartment. Upon receiving the notification, a large number of firefighters, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire was brought under control and extinguished by the intervention of the firefighting teams. No injuries were reported, but significant damage occurred in the apartment. The person alleged to have started the fire was taken into custody by the police. The suspect was arrested by the court and sent to prison.

HE TOLD POLICE 'I WILL SET THE HOUSE ON FIRE'

Necla Türk, who lives in the same site, said, "Her boyfriend. She had thrown her boyfriend out, and he got angry. They were arguing, she was taking her boyfriend outside, closing the door, not opening it. They were already drunk. They had quite a big argument, he went downstairs, we called the police. The police came, they couldn't intervene, they left. Both of them already have issues. The man told the police, 'I will set the house on fire,' and the police left. After that, Ece Güney's other friend took her out. They left the apartment. He said, 'I will set that apartment on fire' and went home. He came down about 15 minutes later and said, 'I set the apartment on fire.' He said, 'I set the apartment on fire, call the police.' We looked for the fire department. As soon as we went out, everywhere was filled with smoke. The fire department, ambulance, police intervened," she said.

"BOTH SET THE HOUSE ON FIRE AND WENT OUT WITHIN TWO MINUTES"

Haluk Demir, a resident of the site, stated, "We woke up to the arguments, I went back to sleep. After a while, security called again saying there was a fire. We went outside, and it was chaos, we couldn't even get out of the corridors. And her boyfriend was already setting the house on fire, they were both together. I mean, within two minutes, both of them set the house on fire and went outside. After that, ambulances, police were here, and firefighters came," he said.

Ece Güney was once married to Selim Güney, the son of artist Gökhan Güney. Ece Güney's name had previously come up in another fire incident that occurred in Esenyurt, where it was also alleged that she had started the fire.
