KVKK announced that a total of 163,000 individuals, including 13,000 employees and 150,000 customers, had their personal data compromised due to a cyber attack on Köfteci Yusuf's information systems. It was stated that the names, surnames, addresses, mobile phone numbers, and food order details of customers, as well as the identity, contact, and personal information of employees, were included in the breach.
The Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) informed the public about a data breach that occurred in the information systems of Köfteci Yusuf Ready Meal Cleaning Live Animal Meat Products Integrated Food Import Export Industry Trade Inc.
DATA BREACH OCCURRED IN JANUARY
According to KVKK's statement, the data breach began on January 22, 2026, and was detected on January 23, 2026. It was reported that the breach occurred due to an external intervention in the local SQL database hosting the payroll software and the Yemekpos information systems managing online food orders. Access to the data was blocked due to the encryption of the systems after the intervention.
EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS WERE AFFECTED
It was stated that both employees and customers were affected by the data breach. The breach included customers' names, surnames, addresses, mobile phone numbers, and food order details; as well as employees' identity, contact, and personal information.
DATA OF 163 THOUSAND PEOPLE WAS BREACHED
In the notification sent to KVKK, it was shared that a total of 163 thousand people were affected by the data breach, including 13 thousand employees and 150 thousand customers.
ANNOUNCED TO THE PUBLIC BY KVKK DECISION
While it was stated that the investigation into the matter is ongoing, it was decided by the Personal Data Protection Board's decision dated January 27, 2026, and numbered 2026/141, to announce the data breach on the Institution's website.
