The famous singer Ece Seçkin caused the re-emergence of her obsessive fan A.U.S., who has been harassing her and her close circle for years, with a statement she made on her social media account. Seçkin announced that the individual, whom she claimed to be a schizophrenia patient, had recently threatened her husband Çağrı Terlemez with death and had followed them to Istanbul despite multiple restraining orders.
ARRESTED, RELEASED
A.U.S., who was detained by the Bakırköy District Police Department teams upon the couple's complaint, was transferred to the Bakırköy Courthouse after the procedures at the police station. Although the prosecutor requested arrest for the charges of "threat" and "stalking," the duty magistrate released the suspect under judicial control.
PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE APPEALED
The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office appealed the decision, stating that A.U.S.'s release posed a risk to both Seçkin and her family, as well as to society. The case was sent to a higher court for re-evaluation.
"SENT TO A HIGHER COURT"
Following the events, Ece Seçkin made a statement on her social media page, saying, "Despite all the support from the police and the esteemed prosecutor, the individual released due to legal bottlenecks wrote insults to my husband again within the same minute, so the case was sent to a higher court."
