Çaykur Rizespor Assistant Coach Ekrem Hayyam Dağ, referring to their disallowed goal in stoppage time after the Beşiktaş match, said: 'Even if you look at the faces of Beşiktaş players, they were surprised, wondering how this goal was disallowed.'

In the final week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, Çaykur Rizespor drew 2-2 at home against Beşiktaş. After the match, following head coach Recep Uçar's red card and subsequent suspension, his assistant Ekrem Hayyam Dağ attended the press conference.

''EVEN BEŞİKTAŞ FANS WERE SURPRISED''

Dağ, expressing great surprise at the disallowed goal scored by Halil İbrahim Dervişoğlu in the 90+2 minute due to offside, stated, 'We played the last match of the season. Most importantly, it was a good game without injuries, thank goodness. That's what I'm thinking. Our goal here at home was clearly to win, it was evident. Especially in the first half, we had a very eager team. We were aiming to win and make our fans happy, chasing our 6th consecutive home win. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, but the cancellation of our goal in the 90th minute truly surprised me. How did the referee cancel that goal? Even if you look at the faces of the Beşiktaş players, they were even surprised, wondering how this goal could be disallowed. I really think the boys didn't get what they deserved today.'

''IT WAS NOT A RED-CARD-WORTHY PROTEST''

Dağ, expressing that the red card received by Çaykur Rizespor Head Coach Recep Uçar deeply saddened them, said, 'From the start of the first half, our plan emerged with high pressing and eagerness. We created consecutive opportunities. Ali Sowe had 4-5 chances. We could have sealed the match earlier. After the 30th minute, there were more back-and-forth exchanges. We had many chances and transition opportunities, but due to lack of recovery, we gave chances to the opponent. In the second half, Beşiktaş made riskier moves. I congratulate them; they fought well. They were close to turning the game around and also created chances. The disallowed goal upset us, but what saddened us more was our coach's red card. It's incredible. Ali Sowe had 4, 5, 6 fouls committed against him in the first half alone, but none were called. In the coach's red card incident, the assistant referee intervened saying 'foul,' though it had nothing to do with a foul. I believe he should not have intervened there. The coach, naturally affected by the game, protested a bit, but that protest was not worthy of a red card. We are upset about that.'
