Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was detained in a terrorism and corruption investigation, has been transferred from the police to the courthouse. İmamoğlu provided a statement to the prosecutor in the terrorism investigation. His statement process lasted for 1 hour, and he will also give a statement in the corruption investigation.

Around 18:53, a total of 14 buses were used to transport individuals to the courthouse. 34 prosecutors were assigned for the questioning of the suspects. METRO STATION CLOSED



On the other hand, Metro Istanbul announced that metro services will not stop at Çağlayan station. In the statement made, it was said, "In accordance with the decision taken by the Istanbul Governorship, as of 17:00 today, until further notice, the M7 Yıldız-Mahmutbey Metro Line Çağlayan station has been closed for operation. Vehicles will continue their service without stopping at Çağlayan station."



THE OPERATION IN WHICH İMAMOĞLU WAS DETAINED



The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation against İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu and 99 suspects for the crimes of "being a leader of a criminal organization," "being a member of a criminal organization," "extortion," "bribery," "qualified fraud," "illegally obtaining personal data," and "interfering with a tender." Additionally, an investigation was launched against İmamoğlu, İBB Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, and Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, among 7 suspects, for the crime of "aiding the PKK/KCK terrorist organization."



Following the detention orders, law enforcement agencies took action, and 91 suspects, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, İBB Presidential Advisor Murat Ongun, Beylikdüzü Mayor Murat Çalık, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, and singer Ercan Saatçi, were detained. The detained suspects were taken to the Istanbul Police Department's Vatan Campus and referred to the courthouse.
