ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE CORRUPTION INVESTIGATION



After their procedures at the police station, the suspects were transferred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan, where their proceedings at the duty magistrate's court were completed. Accordingly, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was arrested in connection with the corruption investigation, while he was released under judicial control in the context of the "city consensus" investigation.



WHAT HAPPENED?



After 4 days of detention, İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu gave statements to two different prosecutors regarding two separate charges, and the prosecution had requested his arrest. Along with İmamoğlu, Resul Emrah Şahan, Mahir Polat, and Mehmet Ali Çalışkan were also referred to the magistrate's court with a request for arrest.
