Billionaire Elon Musk stated that he could gain access to the gold reserves at Fort Knox, where the entire treasury of the United States is stored, for the position of Head of the U.S. Department of Productivity.

The billionaire Elon Musk, head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the United States, hinted that they could audit the gold reserves stored at Fort Knox, where precious metals are kept. Musk stated in a post on his social media account X, "Searching for gold at Fort Knox."

Quoting a post by Utah Senator Mike Lee, who was denied entry to Fort Knox in Kentucky, Musk said, "Who is confirming that gold hasn't been stolen from Fort Knox? Maybe it is there, maybe it isn't. That gold belongs to the American people. We want to know if it’s still there."
