The wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Emine Erdoğan, will meet with the spouses of heads of state and government coming to the country for the NATO Ankara Summit at a roundtable meeting themed "Children, Technology and Security: Protecting the Next Generation."
Emine Erdoğan will host the spouses of heads of state and government arriving in the city for the 36th NATO Heads of State and Government Summit, which will begin tomorrow in Ankara, at Çankaya Mansion on July 8.
ERDOĞAN WILL GREET MORE THAN 20 SPOUSES OF HEADS OF STATE AND GOVERNMENT INDIVIDUALLY
Emine Erdoğan will personally greet more than 20 spouses of heads of state and government upon their arrival at the Mansion. Following the welcoming ceremony, Emine Erdoğan and the spouses of leaders will hold a roundtable meeting themed "Children, Technology and Security: Protecting the Next Generation."
The meeting, to be held on the margins of the NATO Ankara Summit, is expected to serve as a platform for exchanging views aimed at strengthening joint efforts to protect children more effectively from the dangers of the digital world.
The meeting aims to increase awareness about the risks children may face in digital environments, enhance cooperation among stakeholders on this issue, and share good practices from allied countries.
Additionally, the meeting aims to emphasize the importance of a rights-based and value-centered approach that does not overlook children's development in determining digital policies and practices, and to contribute to the development of balanced, measured, and age-appropriate protective mechanisms.
During the meeting, where the spouses of leaders will speak in turn, themes such as "Digital Security and Next-Generation Risks," "Protective and Age-Appropriate Approaches," "Shared Responsibility and Multi-Stakeholder Cooperation," "Awareness, Education and Digital Literacy," "Ethical and Value-Based Approaches," and "Sharing Good Practice Examples" are planned to be discussed.
SPOUSES OF LEADERS WILL BE INTRODUCED TO TURKISH CUISINE FLAVORS
After the roundtable meeting, Emine Erdoğan will meet the spouses of leaders for lunch.
During the meal, which will feature flavors reflecting Turkish gastronomy, the spouses of leaders will be closely introduced to Turkish cuisine.
The spouses of leaders will dine in a hall featuring examples of İznik tiles and on tablecloths reflecting Turkish embroidery culture. This aspect of the meal will go beyond being just a dinner invitation and will convey Turkish craftsmanship, art, and hospitality traditions to the guests. Following lunch, Emine Erdoğan and the spouses of leaders will have a family photo taken.
GUESTS WILL CLOSELY SEE TRADITIONAL HANDICRAFT PRODUCTS
After the family photo, Emine Erdoğan and the spouses of leaders will examine a collection featuring fabrics, embroideries, and needlework that reflect traditional handicrafts and the richness of Turkish weaving culture.
The guest spouses of leaders will also have the opportunity to closely see works from the visual memory of Mesopotamia, Anatolian lands, the Ottoman Empire, and Turkish states.
