Sarıgül alleged that $250,000 of the money was left in Özel's vehicle in front of a restaurant, while $100,000 was hidden in a gift package.

Emir Sarıgül, who is detained in the investigation into the Sarıgül family's assets, was brought from prison and gave an additional statement. Sarıgül told prosecutors about allegations he had not included in his initial statement.

“LEFT $250,000 IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE” ALLEGATION

According to Sabah's report, Emir Sarıgül, one of 24 suspects arrested and sent to prison as part of the investigation, claimed in his statement that money was given for the furnishing of the party building during the founding period of the New Party. According to Sarıgül's allegation, while Özgür Özel and 6-7 MPs were eating at a restaurant in Ankara's Ümitköy, his father Mustafa Sarıgül left $250,000 in the back of Özel's parked vehicle in front of the restaurant. Emir Sarıgül stated that he heard this information from his father.

ALLEGATION THAT $100,000 WAS HIDDEN IN A SHAWL PACKAGE

Emir Sarıgül claimed that the second money delivery was made at a dinner held at the family's house in Ankara. Sarıgül, recounting that at his father's request he bought 2 shawls from a store in İstinye Park, alleged that his father hid $100,000 inside the gift package containing these shawls. Sarıgül said he learned from his father the next day that the package had been given to Özel, who was invited to the dinner.

According to Sarıgül's allegations, with these two deliveries the total amount reached $350,000.

HE DESCRIBED THE INHERITANCE DISPUTE

Emir Sarıgül also touched upon the inheritance dispute between him and his father in his statement. He recounted that in 1999, when he turned 18, he asked his father to transfer to him the assets remaining from his mother Gülsüm Hülya Köksaloğlu, but that this request was refused. Sarıgül, stating that he had been experiencing serious financial difficulties for about 3.5 years, claimed that two years ago his father promised to transfer certain real estate properties to him and that the document for this promise was in a lawyer's safe.

REQUEST FOR PROTECTION AND RELEASE

Sarıgül, arguing that he had no connection to the incidents, requested his release or the application of house arrest. Sarıgül, stating that he was concerned for his safety, expressed that he wanted to be placed under state protection. It was learned that Sarıgül's wife is abroad and his 2 daughters are staying with their maternal grandmother.

MUSTAFA SARIGÜL’S NAME IS IN THE FILE

Mustafa Sarıgül, whose name is mentioned in the investigation file, was not arrested due to being an MP and having legislative immunity. It was reported that the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) report is awaited in the investigation and that an examination of account movements is planned.
