Energy Minister Bayraktar: We have discovered a new reserve of 66 million barrels.

Natural gas exploration continues in the Black Sea and oil exploration in Eastern Anatolia, and production is rapidly increasing as a result of these discoveries.

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, who made statements on the subject, said: "We have reached a point where we can meet the needs of 3.5 million households with our own natural gas production. By adding a floating production platform to our inventory in the Sakarya Gas Field, we will increase our daily production to 20 million cubic meters."

In 2024; a total of 84 drillings have been completed, primarily in Şırnak, Hakkâri, and Van, and we aim to increase this number to 103 by the end of the year. Thus, we have discovered a new reserve of 66 million barrels. In 2025, we aim to conduct 143 exploration drillings. With the infrastructure investments we have made, we are capable of providing an annual supply of 80 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

When the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is fully operational, it will meet 10% of Turkey's electricity needs and will prevent 35 million tons of carbon emissions with an annual import of 7 billion cubic meters of natural gas."

By 2030, we will invest over 20 billion dollars in energy efficiency. With these investments, we will achieve energy savings worth 46 billion dollars over the next 15 years."
