Social media phenomenon Dilan Polat's bodyguard and driver, also the cousin of her husband Engin Polat, Can Polat, lost his life as a result of an armed attack in front of a hotel in Alaçatı, İzmir. Engin Polat, who has long been claimed to be a target of the criminal organization Daltonlar, drew attention by attending the funeral wearing a bulletproof vest.

Can Polat (37), who served as the bodyguard and driver of social media phenomenon Dilan Polat and is also the cousin of her husband Engin Polat, was shot by Serhat Altun in front of a hotel in Alaçatı neighborhood of Çeşme district in Izmir at around 14:00 two days ago. While Can Polat lay bleeding on the ground, health and police teams were dispatched to the address upon notice.

DIED IN THE HOSPITAL 

Can Polat, who was injured in the armed attack while going out to prepare his vehicle to leave the accommodation facility, was taken to Çeşme State Hospital after initial treatment. However, Can Polat could not be saved despite all efforts of the doctors. 

CAME TO THE FUNERAL WITH A BULLETPROOF VEST 

As the repercussions of the incident continued, it did not go unnoticed that Engin Polat, who bid farewell to his cousin on his final journey, came to the funeral wearing a bulletproof vest. It is claimed that Polat has long been a target of the Daltons.
