"Erdoğan issues a directive for a social housing mobilization following rising rental prices."

President Erdoğan has instructed his advisors to take measures to address the rising rental prices and the housing supply shortage. It has been reported that as soon as the earthquake housing is completed, a new social housing mobilization will be launched in all 81 provinces, and projects will be carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change to analyze housing needs in each province.

On Tuesday, the members of parliament who met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for breakfast conveyed the housing difficulties faced by citizens and the exorbitant rental prices. In response, Erdoğan announced that as soon as the earthquake housing is completed, he will launch a new social housing mobilization aimed at meeting the housing needs across the country and reducing rental prices, with projects to be carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, where housing need analyses will be conducted in every province.



PRIORITY IN AREAS WITH SUPPLY SHORTAGES



According to a report by Emrah Özcan from Türkiye newspaper, Erdoğan stated that affordable 1+1 and 2+1 housing will be produced especially for citizens with fixed incomes, young people, and newly married couples, and it was learned that priority will be given to areas experiencing supply shortages. The works are expected to begin in the second half of this year in all 81 provinces.



VIRTUAL GAMBLING ALSO ON THE AGENDA



Additionally, during the meeting, the deputies requested President Erdoğan to take measures against the growing threat of virtual gambling in recent days. The members of parliament stated, "Our children, young people, and many of our citizens are trapped in the virtual gambling swamp. We are receiving many complaints about this. We want measures to be taken regarding this issue."
