President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important statements at the opening ceremony of the Bağcılar Women's and Children's Hospital.
RESPONSE TO ÖZEL
Reacting to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who used the term 'pickaxe' for Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, Erdoğan said, "It is becoming clear who the resources that should be spent for Istanbul are being handed over to. Normally, someone with a sense of shame should not be seen in public. But you see the leader of the main opposition giving moral lessons left and right. He insults the judiciary members who are pursuing corruption and insults our ministers," he stated.

"Speaking with the language of a tavern is not politics. We are ashamed on his behalf for what we hear," Erdoğan said, "We are disturbed that politicians who should be an example to society with their style, stance, and language are coming to the agenda with threats and insults. We see this level of politics as disrespectful to our nation and the office we represent. We do not have time to be distracted by empty words. Our agenda and our goal are clear. We are concerned with building the Century of Turkey. We are pursuing the increase of the welfare, peace, and income of the nation. While a new world is being established, we are striving for it to take its rightful place in this global system," he stated.
WHAT DID ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SAY?
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had said the following regarding the students who were detained and arrested during protests against İmamoğlu's arrest: "I have not seen a young person carrying an axe. But at the head of this country, I see an incompetent, unqualified, and malicious person as the Minister of National Education. A person should have a little bit of shame. You will imprison the most successful children of Turkey and then say they have an axe in their hands. They do not have an axe in their hands, but there is a pickaxe at the head of the Ministry of National Education!"
