After the hotel fire that claimed the lives of 78 people, Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, who came under scrutiny following President Erdoğan's statement, "We will not hesitate to punish those at fault, even if they are our own friends," reiterated that they bear no responsibility in the incident by stating, "The ministry conducts inspections related to tourism activities of hotels, while the ministry is also responsible for fire inspections."

Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç, who spoke at the same meeting, provided information about the investigation conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the punishment of those responsible and the clarification of the incident. Minister Tunç stated that the investigation is being conducted meticulously, saying, "There is an approach in the opposition that 'the other side is guilty, we are innocent.' We do not view the matter this way. Every aspect of the issue is being investigated. We are continuing the necessary work meticulously. The investigation is still ongoing. Whoever is guilty will be revealed."

A COMMISSION HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN THE GRAND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

Meanwhile, in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, it was accepted to establish a Parliamentary Research Commission to investigate all aspects of the fire that broke out at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Kartalkaya and to determine the necessary measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring again. In the vote, all political parties voted positively. The commission, consisting of 22 members, will have a working period of 3 months and can work outside Ankara if necessary.
