In Konya, a fugitive with a finalized 15-year prison sentence for various crimes was caught by police in a mosque restroom. Following extensive efforts, it was determined that the suspect had been hiding in the restroom, which he had turned into a living space for two months.
Teams from the Warrant Bureau of the Public Order Branch Directorate in Konya launched an operation to capture fugitive convict Ö.G., who has a finalized 15-year prison sentence for theft.
CAUGHT IN MOSQUE TOILET
During the process, the teams also received a tip that Ö.G. was seen around a mosque in the Bosna Hersek neighborhood of Selçuklu district. After monitoring the area for a week, the teams determined that a person who had not emerged for a long time from the unused toilet of the mosque was the fugitive they were seeking. After taking security precautions, the teams raided the toilet and took Ö.G. into custody.
HAD BEEN LIVING THERE FOR 2 MONTHS
It was determined that Ö.G. had turned the mosque toilet into his living space for two months to avoid capture. During the suspect's body search, a knife, scissors, and numerous keys were also found. After a health check at the hospital, the convict was sent to prison.
