After the arrest of Resul Emrah Şahan, Ayhan Terzi, who was appointed as the Deputy Governor of Istanbul to replace Şişli District Governor Cevdet Ertürkmen, who was assigned as a trustee to the Şişli Municipality, has been appointed as the Acting Mayor of Şişli.
The Vice President of Şişli Municipality has changed.
FIRST AS DEPUTY GOVERNOR, THEN AS MUNICIPAL VICE PRESIDENT
In a statement made on the official social media account of Şişli Municipality, it was stated, "Istanbul Deputy Governor Mr. Ayhan Terzi has started his duty as the Vice President of Şişli Municipality."
Terzi, who replaced Şişli District Governor Cevdet Ertürkmen, who was appointed as the Vice President of Şişli Municipality last year, was previously serving as the District Governor of Bursa Mudanya. Terzi was appointed as the Istanbul Deputy Governor today.
On the other hand, Ertürkmen will continue his duty as the District Governor of Şişli.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor (IMM) Ekrem İmamoğlu, Şişli Municipality Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, Beylikdüzü Municipality Mayor Murat Çalık, and around 100 others were detained on March 19, 2025. After Resul Emrah Şahan was arrested on March 23, he was suspended from duty by the Ministry of Interior, and Şişli District Governor Cevdet Ertürkmen was appointed as a trustee in his place.
