Sources from the Ministry of National Defense stated regarding the lieutenants expelled from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), "The decision made has no relation to the text read or its content. These young individuals were punished not for what they said, but for having engaged in a pre-planned, collective, and organized act of indiscipline, violating absolute obedience, and damaging the reputation of the TSK."

Sources from the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) answered journalists' questions at the weekly press briefing. The sources also responded to a question regarding the lieutenants expelled from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) by the decision of the High Disciplinary Board (YDK).

"THEY WERE PUNISHED FOR DAMAGING THE REPUTATION OF THE TSK"

MSB sources stated, "The administrative and disciplinary investigations initiated after the Land Forces Academy Flag Transfer and Graduation Ceremony, as well as the YDK process, have been carried out with great sensitivity. As we have emphasized before, the preservation and maintenance of established discipline in the TSK is essential. Our Turkish Armed Forces view events within a framework of discipline and carry out procedures in accordance with the relevant legal regulations.

It is worth emphasizing once again; the decision taken has nothing to do with the text read and its content. This incident is being discussed in society not based on facts, but through perceptions detached from context. These young people were punished not for what they said, but for having previously engaged in planned, collective, and organized indiscipline, for breaking absolute obedience, and for damaging the reputation of the TSK. The claim that the lieutenants were punished for saying, 'We are soldiers of Mustafa Kemal' is one of the greatest slanders that can be directed at the Turkish Armed Forces; it is an insult. In a period when our army, which stands out with its superior understanding of discipline, is raising its success bar to higher levels day by day, everyone needs to be more sensitive and careful to ensure it is not undermined."
