"Explosive response from Fenerbahçe to Galatasaray"

11.01.2025 20:21

Fenerbahçe responded to Galatasaray's statement regarding the "black market ticket" allegations by releasing a new statement. The yellow-reds had reacted very strongly to the words of the yellow-navy blue president Ali Koç on the matter in a statement made during the day.

Galatasaray responded to Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç's statements regarding "black market tickets" with a statement of its own. The yellow-navy team also replied to the yellow-reds' statement.

FENERBAHÇE'S STATEMENT

Fenerbahçe's statement included the following remarks;

"Since the date of the press conference held by our President Ali Y. Koç, important details related to the investigation have emerged on social media regarding the black market allegations he expressed during the press conference.

Despite the strong suspicion of crime, our Club shared with the public its objection made on December 31, 2024, against the decision of 'no grounds for prosecution';

It emphasized that it is necessary for the investigation to deepen in terms of public conscience.

Galatasaray Club, which has remained silent since the allegations came to light, made a statement today due to the public's interest in the allegations.

In the statement, the black market ticket allegations have been completely distorted, detached from legal facts and claims that need to be answered; as they are accustomed to doing.

ALLEGATIONS LISTED ONE BY ONE

In the statement given to the Public Prosecutor's Office by a former employee of Galatasaray Club, serious allegations were made;

    It was stated that black market activities were used by GS Secretary General Eray Yazgan, GS Board Member Bora Bahçetepe, and former board member Alper Narman,

    • Bank accounts of club employees were used in black market activities,
    • A company and its officials, who are corporate season ticket customers of the club, are at the center of these activities.

    Galatasaray Club's focus solely on this witness statement is a clear indication that they are trying to evade the seriousness and gravity of the matter by distorting it.

    If they do not know;

    • This allegation was first brought up by Hayri Kozak in their own Divan Board meetings,
    • It has been repeatedly raised by Fatih Altaylı, who has previously served on the Board of Directors,
    • Finally, it was brought to justice by a former Board Member, Rezzan Epözdemir, who filed a criminal complaint.

    The public should know that contrary to the statement made today, Galatasaray Club has not filed a complaint regarding the black market allegations.

    In his application to the prosecutor's office, their president only requested the identification and punishment of those who raised these allegations.

    "WE WILL FOLLOW THIS CASE TO THE END"

    What they want to distract the public from;

    is to prevent the investigation and questioning of the reality of the allegations made by different individuals who have held significant positions within their own community, trivializing these allegations to ensure the public ignores the agenda.

    Although the relevant club tries to give the impression that this serious incident has been covered up and the process is over, we, as Fenerbahçe Sports Club, would like to inform the public that we will meticulously follow this case to the end.

    Additionally, necessary steps will be taken by us regarding the unlawful statements made in the statement of Galatasaray Club."

    WHAT DID ALİ KOÇ SAY?

    Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç recently stated in a press conference that a figure of 56 million euros was being discussed regarding the black market ticket allegations related to Galatasaray.

    Ali Koç's words were as follows;

    "The black market issue... Is there anyone who has read the indictment? There are statements from a lady who works there, detailing everything. Turkish football is finished, it is working. You are still writing normal things! 56 million... It is not a figure that came out of nowhere. Their own congress members expressed it. They came for the investigation, we opened all the documents, we said 'log into Passolig, everything is there.' The hands of 3 inspectors were tied. Then the investigation was closed. Who allows all this? Why does the system work differently for them and differently for others."

    GALATASARAY'S RESPONSE TO ALİ KOÇ'S STATEMENTS

    "In recent months, regarding the speculations that our club has been drawn into, our president Dursun Aydın Özbek has taken the matter to court for investigation and punishment of any responsible parties. A comprehensive investigation has been conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding these allegations, which are entirely based on rumors, and it has been determined that there is no concrete information or document that can prove the allegations.

    "THIS DECISION HAS BEEN FINALIZED"

    It has been determined that the allegations made by individuals in the position of witnesses were learned from each other through written and visual media and social media. In addition, detailed investigations have been conducted through the necessary institutions and organizations, and no evidence capable of proving the allegations has been found. As a result, a decision of 'no grounds for prosecution' has been made regarding the suspects, and this decision has been finalized.

    During this process, our club has preferred not to respond to provocations and slanders made about the issue, especially due to the sensitivity of the matter being in court. Despite the sensitivity we have shown during the process, we now see that a new game is being staged by the president of the rival club, who cannot succeed on the field, and his associates in supporting roles. This person and his friends, who have seized a witness statement from the file, have shamelessly expressed these absurdities at a press conference.

    The statement in question belongs to a former GSTV presenter who was dismissed in 2023, and we will meticulously follow the legal process regarding this individual, whose motivation for making a false statement to the competent authorities we can only guess.

    "EVEN IF YOU EXPLAIN IT TO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN, THEY WON'T BELIEVE IT"

    The truly alarming thing is that the president of the rival club, whose management of a holding has been incomprehensible for years and who is oblivious to accounting, utters a figure like 56 million euros while looking into the cameras during a live broadcast. We leave it to the judgment of the Turkish sports public how much this person and his friends need to believe in stories that even elementary school children would not be convinced by, such as "They sold black market tickets, they made transfers with it, they are beating us with that."
