SHE SHARED IT SAYING "THE COOLEST TRICK"
According to a report by The People, influencer Tara Woodcox shared a video on her TikTok account, presenting a "life-saving method" for her followers who do not have enough spare underwear while traveling. Woodcox suggested placing dirty underwear in the coffee reservoir of hotel room coffee machines and pressing the "brew" button.
Detailing the method in the video, the influencer stated, "You close the lid, press the button, and hot water passes through it. This way, you have cleaner underwear that you can wear! Afterwards, you can use a hairdryer to dry it."
"I WILL NEVER DRINK COFFEE IN A HOTEL AGAIN"
The video, which quickly reached hundreds of thousands of views, also sparked hygiene debates. Social media users and other content creators described this method as "disgusting." One user expressed their reaction by saying, "Now every time I see a coffee machine in a hotel room, I will have to think about whether someone has washed their underwear in it."
SHE GAVE HERSELF AWAY
As the discussions grew, attentive followers uncovered another video that Woodcox shared in 2023. In the old video, the influencer was seen admitting her fear of the situation by saying, "Is there anyone else who avoids using coffee machines in hotel rooms? Because you never know what’s going on there."
SHE SAID "IT WAS JUST A JOKE"
After receiving intense backlash and a flood of emails, Tara Woodcox made a statement on Instagram claiming that she never actually applied the method. In her statement, made with a smile, she said, "I actually never did that, it was just a joke. I heard this method from a friend."
Woodcox claimed that she actually filmed the video to emphasize why people should not use hotel coffee machines.
