The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an ex officio investigation into the person who, under the username "Kuzey" (@kavrukkuzey) on Instagram, insulted Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and the sacred values of the Turkish nation. The Chief Prosecutor's Office ordered the identification and detention of the suspect, on the grounds that the expressions in the post constitute the crimes of "insulting a public official due to their duties" and "degrading the Turkish nation, the Republic of Turkey, and the state's institutions and bodies."

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an ex officio investigation against an individual who, using the alias "Kuzey" on the social media platform Instagram, hurled severe insults at Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and the sacred values of the Turkish nation. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office ordered the suspect's detention.

TARGETED MINISTER TEKIN WITH SCANDALOUS VIDEO

In the footage that drew reactions on social media, the user with the alias "Kuzey" (@kavrukkuzey) hurled curses at Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin's statements regarding the curriculum.

The suspect was also seen targeting national struggle heroes and statesmen in his post.

DETENTION ORDER ISSUED AT LIGHTNING SPEED

Following these scandalous images, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office took action in accordance with the relevant articles of the Turkish Penal Code.

In a statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated: "Because the expressions in the video content shared by the user of the Instagram account with the alias 'Kuzey (@kavrukkuzey)' constitute the crime of insulting a public official due to their duty, as regulated in Article 125/3-a of the TPC, and the crime of disparaging the Turkish nation, the Republic of Turkey, and the state's institutions and organs, as regulated in Article 301 of the TPC, an ex officio investigation has been initiated by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office."

Judicial authorities ordered the identification of the said individual and his immediate detention within the scope of the crime of "insulting a public official due to their duty."
