Journalist Fatih Altaylı underwent a scheduled surgery in the morning due to pressure from a benign tumor in his brain.
It was announced that journalist Fatih Altaylı underwent brain surgery after his health problems increased during his prison term.
THE MASS IN HIS BRAIN GREW
Altaylı, who was arrested in June on charges of "threatening the president" and released about six months later, had stated that his health deteriorated during his time in prison. During the examinations, growth was detected in the mass in his brain.
THE MASS REACHED 2.5 CENTIMETERS
Journalist İsmail Saymaz, speaking on Halk TV, said that Altaylı had a benign tumor in his brain for a long time, but during the prison process, this mass grew to 2.5 centimeters and began to put pressure on the brain.
HE WAS TAKEN TO SURGERY IN THE MORNING HOURS
Saymaz stated that Altaylı was taken to surgery at 07:00 this morning and that the operation was ongoing. He reported that Altaylı had told him before the surgery, "From the outside, it seems like a simple procedure; I hope it ends quickly," and expressed that the process was being closely monitored.
