Justice Minister Akın Gürlek, responding to the allegations about CHP leader Özgür Özel's assets, said, "Those documents are fake, fabricated documents. I have four properties. One is in Tuzla. It is not worth 30 million TL as he claims. It is worth 3-4 million TL. Everything is a lie. We will file a lawsuit today."
The Minister of Justice, Akın Gürlek, responded to the allegations regarding the assets of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel with a statement made at the Ministry of Justice. Gürlek argued that Özel's statements aimed to obscure two different issues.
"ÖZGÜR ÖZEL WANTS TO OBSCURE TWO POINTS"
Gürlek stated, "Özgür Özel's first aim is to obscure the corruption case of the century. The second aim; as you know, there is a trial regarding the Muhittin Böcek case. There is a money allegation concerning Özgür Özel's candidacy. There are also base station works on this matter. These are also in the file. I believe Özgür Özel wants to obscure two points."
"THE MONEY ALLEGATION IS IN THE FILE"
In his statement, Gürlek also referred to the Muhittin Böcek case, saying, "The first is the corruption case of the century, the second is the allegation of giving money at a gas station in Manisa for his candidacy on January 15, 2024."
"I HAVE 4 PROPERTIES, THEIR VALUES ARE CLEAR"
Responding to allegations regarding his assets, Gürlek said, "I have 4 properties. The values of these properties are also clear. One of them is in Tuzla. It is not 30 million lira as he said; the value of the property is 3-4 million lira."
A LAWSUIT FOR MORAL COMPENSATION WILL BE FILED
Gürlek stated that they would initiate legal proceedings due to the allegations, saying, "We will file a lawsuit for moral compensation today. I have no account to give."
"THESE ARE ÖZGÜR ÖZEL'S LAST-MINUTE STRUGGLES"
At the end of his statement, Gürlek criticized Özgür Özel, saying, "These are Özgür Özel's last-minute struggles. I leave this to the judgment of the great Turkish nation."
