Fatih Erbakan's early election message! He gave a date and explained it.

01.08.2024 19:00

The leader of the Welfare Party, Fatih Erbakan, visited the leader of the Good Party, Müsavat Dervişoğlu. The announcement of early elections by the leaders after the meeting drew attention. Dervişoğlu said, "If there will be early elections, the Good Party is ready." Erbakan, on the other hand, stated, "I think it is necessary to discuss whether there should be an early election in the fall of 2025."

The leader of the Welfare Party, Fatih Erbakan, reminded that the current government took office in June 2023 and said, "By June 2025, it will have completed 2 years. If there is no improvement by then, which the indicators show will not happen... Therefore, I think it is necessary to discuss whether there will be an early election in the fall of 2025."

The leader of the Welfare Party, Fatih Erbakan, visited the leader of the Good Party, Müsavat Dervişoğlu, at the party headquarters. The closed-door meeting lasted about 45 minutes. After the meeting, Dervişoğlu and Erbakan held a joint press conference.

Fatih Erbakan: We should discuss early elections in 2025

Dervişoğlu stated that during the short meeting, all of Turkey's problems were discussed, including democracy, justice and the rule of law, the economy, the hardships faced by retirees, the vision for the future, and all the topics that need to be discussed. They also discussed the impasses in foreign policy and the wrong policies implemented. In addition, they remembered Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan and shared his high contributions to Turkish politics, and expressed that they can discuss many specific issues in the coming period as two opposition parties. Accordingly, we will also make a return visit. With the benefit of his and his party's program, we will try to coordinate our contributions to opening the way for Turkey.

"IF THERE WILL BE AN EARLY ELECTION, THE GOOD PARTY IS READY"

Responding to a question about early elections, Dervişoğlu said, "If early elections are on the agenda, as the name suggests, the election should be brought to the agenda immediately. We have to evaluate whether there is such a political environment in Turkey or not. Now, if political parties want early elections, I openly declare from here that if there will be an immediate election, we, as the Good Party, have started our preparations for this election. But if it is being used for speculative purposes, if it is being brought to the agenda today with the approach of 'we will do it in 2.5 years', it is not acceptable. My desire for an election does not make an election happen. The conditions for the election must be met, and the decision must be made by the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Therefore, the government must also support this decision for early elections. If there will be early elections in Turkey, I can say that the Good Party is ready even for an election to be held tomorrow."

"WE SHOULD DISCUSS EARLY ELECTIONS IN 2025"

Erbakan, stating that the economic indicators are getting worse, said, "We should be able to discuss and talk about holding an early election in 2025. Because by May 2025, the new economic management will have completed 2 years, and the AK Party government will have completed 23 years. Our late leader Erbakan used to say, 'The situation of a wrestler becomes clear when he steps on the mat,' and 'The first 100 days of an economic management, of a government, determine what they can or cannot do.' They started their term of office in June 2023, and by June 2025, they will have completed 2 years. If there is no improvement by then, which the indicators show will not happen. Therefore, I think it is necessary to discuss whether there will be an early election in the fall of 2025."

"CLOSE THE KÜRECİK RADAR BASE"

Erbakan, the leader of the Welfare Party, also expressed his condolences for the death of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas Political Bureau, who was assassinated in the Iranian capital, Tehran. Erbakan said that they will participate in the funeral prayer for Haniyeh, which will be held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, and said, "Mr. President said, 'We can enter Gaza one night, we can also enter Israel.' However, as the Welfare Party, we want to remind him that 'We cannot enter Israel one night' because first of all, the Kürecik Radar Base on our own land informs Israel in advance that we will enter. Therefore, by sharing the information obtained from the Kürecik Base, which is a NATO base through the United Kingdom and the United States, we actually support Israel's missile shield and intelligence on our own land. We need to free ourselves from this responsibility, and I once again express that the Kürecik Radar Base should be closed after these developments."
