Fenerbahçe loaned Ongjen Mimovic, whom they transferred from Kızılyıldız for 6.7 million euros during the winter transfer period, to Zenit until the end of the season. The yellow-navy team made this decision due to foreign player quota restrictions. Although Mimovic's license was issued after his transfer to Fenerbahçe on January 31, he left the club just 12 days later without playing a single minute.
Fenerbahçe has loaned Serbian right-back Ognjen Mimovic, whom they signed from the Serbian team Red Star Belgrade during the winter transfer period with a contract until 2029, to Zenit.
AGREEMENT UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON
The 20-year-old player will play on loan for the Russian team until the end of the season. In a statement made by the yellow-navy club, it was said, "Our club has reached an agreement with Zenit Club for the loan transfer of our player Ognjen Mimovic until the end of the season. We wish our player a successful period free from injuries."
WHY WAS HE LOANED OUT?
With the cancellation of Allan Saint-Maximin's transfer to Napoli, Fenerbahçe increased the number of foreign players in their squad to 15 with the reinforcements made during the winter transfer period. However, due to the rules of the Turkish Football Federation, the yellow-navy team can have a maximum of 14 foreign players in their squad. Therefore, it was necessary for one player to be excluded from the squad.
HE GOT HIS LICENSE BUT NEVER PLAYED
Ognjen Mimovic transferred to Fenerbahçe from the Serbian team Red Star Belgrade on January 31 for 6.7 million euros.
