Following Galatasaray's defeat, Fenerbahçe, which has moved away from the championship race, is experiencing heated developments. President Sadettin Saran stated in his announcement, 'I inform our community that our Extraordinary Elective General Assembly will be held on June 6-7.' Saran also stated that he will not be a candidate in the extraordinary elective general assembly for the Fenerbahçe presidency.

A surprise statement came from Fenerbahçe President Sadettin Saran. In his statement, Saran said, "I inform our community that our Extraordinary Elective General Assembly will be held on June 6-7."

SARAN WILL NOT BE A CANDIDATE

Saran's full statement is as follows: "To every member of Fenerbahçe, To our community whose heart beats for this emblem, Today, I am addressing you not only as a president but as a child of this community.

On the day we took on the duty, we set out with the motto 'Neither patience nor time.' Because we knew this community no longer needed to wait but to rise. Despite the election being held at an inappropriate time, we never hesitated to put our hand under the stone. We did not shy away from responsibility; we did not step back. We were there that day to show that it is possible to unite again, to believe again, and to succeed again.

When we took office, we faced a picture where the hope for the championship had weakened; despite this, my colleagues and I worked day and night to end the long-standing longing for the championship and to take Fenerbahçe to where it deserves.

Throughout this process, we particularly took care not to offend anyone, not to use language that would divide our community, and not to create an environment of conflict. We neither hid behind excuses nor feared difficulties. Our sole focus was the success of our club.

"WE STAND BEHIND OUR PROMISE"

I entered the presidential race at a time when everyone held back, based on my promise. Again, based on my promise, today I stand before the community. As you all know well, the off-field developments and conditions that occurred at the very beginning of our term made a different assessment impossible that day. Just as we did not avoid responsibility then, today we stand behind our promise.

Throughout the season, we deliberately postponed some decisions to avoid harming our championship race. However, at this point, it is clear that delaying this process further would not be right. Therefore, in line with our promise to our community, I inform our community that our Extraordinary Elective General Assembly will be held on June 6-7. I made this decision to clear the way for Fenerbahçe and to allow a new page to be opened before our community.

Since the first day we took office, we have worked in an environment where doors were not equally open and conditions were not the same for everyone. Despite this, we never lost our focus. My wish was to complete this duty by bringing the joy of championship to our community. We put everything on the line for our goals, but as of today, we are not at the point we desired. I have full faith in the struggle and intention we have shown in this process.

Making this decision was not easy for me. However, this seat is not carried by personal preferences but by the responsibility to make the right decisions at the right time. Today, I want to state very clearly: Fighting for this seat and turning this position into a matter of personal ambition is of no benefit to Fenerbahçe. What matters is Fenerbahçe.

Just as important as attaining this seat is being able to leave it when the time comes. Especially doing so not with resentment or ambition, but with the responsibility of clearing the way for the community and thinking about Fenerbahçe's future... That is the real matter.

For everyone who has served in the past, who is serving today, or who will take on this responsibility tomorrow, there is only one truth: This club belongs to no one; it belongs to all of us. Fenerbahçe should never remain in the shadow of individuals.

As someone who has walked this path, I want to say this to everyone who will aspire to this responsibility from now on:

The Fenerbahçe presidency is not a field where any means are justified to win. This position is not a place where you can rise by pulling someone down. What matters here is to exist by growing Fenerbahçe, not by diminishing one another.

Serving this club gains meaning not only through the struggle but also through how that struggle is waged. The true weight of this seat is understood not when you sit down, but when you get up. Serving Fenerbahçe sometimes requires knowing not just to stay, but to step aside when necessary. Because this emblem is not a place to carry any of our ambitions; it is a trust to carry all of our responsibilities.

To our fans, rather than expressing an expectation, I want to make a reminder:

Today and tomorrow, what will make us strong is our will to unite around Fenerbahçe, no matter who. It is clear now what has cost our Fenerbahçe the attitudes that speak from behind, consume the club's energy with internal debates, and act on personal accounts. My colleagues and I, even after handing over this duty, will continue to stand by our club and be part of a stance that carries it forward.

Because we know what befits this club and we will act accordingly: taking responsibility, stepping back when necessary, and proceeding with dignity under all circumstances. Long live Fenerbahçe. Cheers Fenerbahçe."
