Fenerbahçe presidential candidate Barış Göktürk harshly criticized the management's decisions, arguing that the period during which Tedesco remained in charge ended the championship chances. Using strong words about Domenico Tedesco, Göktürk said, 'Our championship possibility ended the day we continued with Tedesco and Devin Özek.' The candidate, who argued that Tedesco should have been let go much earlier, stated, 'He should have been dismissed in October; the delay in this decision harmed the club.'
Following the decision for an extraordinary general assembly with elections at Fenerbahçe, presidential candidate Barış Göktürk made striking statements regarding the club's agenda. Göktürk's remarks, especially about Domenico Tedesco, drew attention.
“THERE IS A NEED FOR CHANGE”
Speaking to Sports Digitale, Göktürk emphasized that there has been a long-standing structural problem at Fenerbahçe, saying, “We have been watching the same movie for 12 years. There is a serious problem in the club independent of individuals.” Stating that a professional football structure needs to be established in the club, Göktürk proposed a new system involving scouting, data analysis, and executive boards.
ECONOMIC AND STRUCTURAL PROJECTS
Arguing that one of Fenerbahçe's biggest issues is its economic structure, Göktürk announced plans to offer Fenerium and the “Fenerbahçe GO” projects to the public to increase revenues. He also committed to increasing the stadium capacity to 60-65 thousand and expanding the number of VIP boxes.
EMPHASIS ON THE TECHNICAL LEAD MODEL
Emphasizing a “balance model” regarding the choice of manager, Göktürk stated that a system that is neither fully local nor fully foreign is appropriate. He expressed that they should work with a local technical leader or a foreign coach close to a local one.

Setting ambitious goals, Göktürk said, “Fenerbahçe must win at least 5 championships in the next 10 years. If I cannot achieve this, I should not be president.”
