As part of the FETÖ investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a detention order has been issued for 14 personnel serving in the Air Force Command. Among those subject to the detention order are 5 officers, 4 of whom have been previously dismissed or retired, including 1 currently on duty, and 7 non-commissioned officers who have been dismissed.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that a decision was made to simultaneously detain 14 suspects identified as having connections and relations with the "FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization" in 4 provinces.
"THEY HAVE BEEN PART OF THE ORGANIZATION'S FINANCIAL STRUCTURE"
In the statement made by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the following expressions were included; "Within the scope of the investigations conducted by our Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau, it has been understood that they have connections and relations with the structure of the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization that targets the Air Force Command and is nested within, referred to as 'confidential services', and that they have been involved in activities within the organization's current financial structure.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION IN 4 PROVINCES CENTERED IN ANKARA
It has been determined that a total of 14 suspects, including 1 confidential imam, 1 active duty officer, 4 officers who were previously dismissed/retired, 7 dismissed non-commissioned officers, and 1 military student who had previously been discharged, communicated and corresponded with civilian imams by using prepaid fixed lines in public places such as buffets, grocery stores, and markets located in various neighborhoods throughout Ankara. A decision has been made for their simultaneous detention in 4 provinces centered in Ankara starting from February 25, 2025. Operations to capture the suspects are ongoing by the teams of the Ankara Provincial Police Department."
